Greetings! My name is Junior Shelver.
I am a solutions-driven illustrator, visualizer and designer. Art is my passion and creativity my drive.
For as long as I can remember, I have given vent to my dreams through drawing. My father often related that, as a toddler, I was at my happiest (and quietest!) when given a pencil and paper. I would sit for hours drawing anything that crossed my mind.
I am an unrelenting self-critic and am continually adding to my knowledge and abilities. I use constructive criticism as vehicle for honing my skills and improving my prowess.
I have had numerous, challenging opportunities in my career to add variety to my art and design. The most significant of these is the exposure to medical illustration. Over many years working in hospitals and in the military service as an ops medic, has assisted in the illustration of manuals and patient training publications
I have also had the opportunity of blending illustrations with other technical fields such as: light engineering, visualizations, illustrations and architectural renderings and 3D digital modeling.
Over a four year period, I became involved in signage and advertising where significant milestones are: billboard and point-of-sale design and manufacture, magazine and newspaper advertising, corporate gift design and manufacture and casino signage “spectaculars” (often involving animatronics and neon design and fabrication). See two of these in my “Portfolio” section.
My career in advertising exposed a talent for cartooning that has become a joy to myself and to my clients. I have built upon this skill and utilized it in comic art, political humor and a wide variety of illustrations and character design.
I am currently working as an art director, medical illustrator and designer in the Middle East, leading a talented, creative team.
I am keen to become recognized as an illustrator and designer on the international stage and look forward to serving an ever growing international clientele.
I can be contacted by mobile text messaging and on the “Contact Me” section of this website.
